A review on: Legend stronghold |
Computer Game Legend stronghold. The success of computer game legend Stronghold was badly marred with the technically flawed Stronghold 2, following its unsuccessful transition into 3D.
Firefly Studios is returning to the battlegrounds with their renovated version, Stronghold Legends, which retains its core theme of medieval economics and warfare management, with additional ingredients in the form of legends and folklore. The game now brings to life creatures heard of in old wives tales from the dark ages. Fire breathing dragons swoop down from the red skies, breathing hell on unwary footmen and striking fear into the hearts of the bravest of knights. Awe inspiring giants charge through ranks of lance carriers deforming the landscape as they pound mercilessly on soldiers with their spike encrusted clubs. The game promises to feature three campaigns, unravelling the mythical tale of Arthur, Siegfried the Dauntless, in his quest in the frozen lands of Norway and a sinister journey through the domain of Count Dracula. In comparison to Stronghold 2, which could hardly render more than 50 units on screen, Stronghold Legends claims to have battles on an epic scale. The array of legendary recruits has given the gameplay an innovative and interesting twist, giving way to new strategies. The units are creatively designed or altered, such as vampires that can shift the loyalties of enemy troops or ice maidens that can freeze enemies in their tracks. Like most game sequels, there is nothing original in this title, the unique combination of myth with the gameplay and design of Stronghold promises to be an experience of its kind.
