Silverfall. The typical role-playing genre is now changing trends and is gradually migrating from the cliche good versus evil battle to the logic of science and technology versus the. forces of Mother Nature and magic.
Silveriall borrows much of what has been implemented in games over the years, offering a melange of characters from Dungeon Siege such as the ambivalent humans, magical elves and tech savvy goblins with the hack and slash gameplay of Diablo. The political stronghold of magic users in the imaginary archaic world of Silverfall is threatened by the scientific advancements of the goblin race. This undesirable shift in the balance of power is what fuels the storyline. Like any other APG, the characters have attributes and skills that evolve through progress.
Silverfall lets gamers focus their skill points towards technology or magic. Featuring combat inspired from modern day arsenal, elemental magic and summoning spells, the game like most APG's today is well stocked with plenty of main and sub quests to play through, with variety terrains on ground and underground. There are various sidekicks that aid the main character in the game. The game looks as good as anything around at the moment, complete with real-time lighting and reflections, weather effects, and a realistic day/night cycle. The characters have a slight outline to differentiate them. from the background. Even though the game is an adaptation of several others, Silverfall just might turn out to be relatively better than the rest.
