Sunscreen for dogs.

Question:
We have a white and fawn Italian Greyhound who loves to sun herself. Can you recommend a sunscreen for dog that would be suitable to use on her, and information about where we can obtain it from?

I usually advise that clients use sunscreen for dogs formulated for human babies on their pets as these usually give high-factor protection and are hypo-allergenic, as well as normally being waterproof.

Some companies are now looking at producing sun creams specifically for pets, but any chemist should be able to supply you with an effective low-allergy, waterproof sun block of factor 35 - 60 which you could use daily on your dog.
