2 pet sims. The Sims 2: Pets The creators of Sims have never ceased to impress gamers with their unique and creative expansion packs, not to mention the best selling title itself. This time round the Sims can socialise with domesticated animals, respectfully called Pets. Sims is all about building homes or buying them, populating them with denizens and then managing or simply watching them go about their daily lives, eating, sleeping, working, cleansing, socializing or just simply having fun.
The appeal of the game was the fact that no other game had ever captured routine day-to day life and simulated them with such believable intelligence and richly detailed environments. This release is somewhat similar to Sims 2 which allowed one to customise humans in every way imaginable, from their personalities and behavioural patterns right down to their physical appearance and genetics that they pass on to their children.
The Pets expansion applies the customisation options to animals. This will let cat lovers and dog lovers alike to create their dream pet, however unnatural as it may be. From multi-coloured felines in boots to polka dotted gold fish, one can interact with pets in this game, pretty much in the. same manner as one does in normal life. The modified pets have needs just like their owners and some of their own animal desires, which if not fulfilled can have dire consequences. So as long as cats are given a scratching post to claw on, the teakwood furniture is safe from harm. Pets can be scolded or praised for what they do and can be trained to do what their owners like. For example if the pet is praised to soil the carpet, this can result in that particular behaviour recurring at all times.
Pets may also embark on careers in the entertainment industry or as guide/guard dogs; but this is limited to certain species only, leaving out the fish and the hamsters, unless of course another Dr. Dolittle movie is in production (not featured in this expansion to the utter disappointment of the hamster lovers). The game will feature a variety of popular species to choose from for each animal category and this also gives rise to cross-breeding (strictly within the same species). Animal enthusiasts can look forward to adding this valuable expansion to their Sims collection. source Spider Mag.
